5th Annual Detroit Dance City Festival

The 2017 Detroit Dance City Festival (DDCF) will take place this weekend from August 18-20. The three-day community-building event celebrates dance in its various forms and disciplines.

DDCF includes workshops, performances and networking opportunities held at various locations throughout the city of Detroit occurring simultaneously throughout the entire weekend. The festival’s mission is to educate audiences about the impact of dance, provide opportunities for artists to share their work, and create an artistic network between Michigan, the United States and the world.

Special events include: the Dance Film Fest portion, looking to recognize the developments and exploration of movement on screen; the Movers and Shakers Lunch, a forum for dance industry professionals and audience members to engage with each other on the subject of dance in Metro-Detroit; and the new Kids Dance Camp, offering classes at three different age levels (3-5, 6-8, and 9-13.)
