The Ailey Extension offers The Ailey ExperienceThe Ailey Extension offers unique summer opportunities for young dancers at the prestigious Ailey Studios at the Joan Weill Center for Dance, New York’s largest building dedicated to the art form. With programs like Tiny Steps (ages 2-3), Extension for Kids (ages 7-11) and Teens (ages 12-17), The Ailey Experience Jr. (ages 8-12), The Ailey Experience (ages 13-18), and the Fabrice Herrault Ballet Intensive (ages 10-19), students from tots to teens have the chance to explore their creativity and learn from some of the world’s most renowned dance instructors.

Fabrice Herrault Ballet Summer Intensive at The Ailey StudiosThe Ailey Experience (meant for students aged 13-18) will be presented twice, on August 8-12 and then August 15-19, from 10 am to 6 pm each day. It gives teen dancers from around the world the opportunity to train and perform in a variety of techniques, such as ballet, Horton, contemporary, hip-hop, West African and Broadway jazz. All levels are welcome. Students can sign up for Week 1, Week 2 or both. The program culminates in a performance for family and friends in the Ailey Studios.

In this summer workshop, renowned instructor Fabrice Herrault teaches classical ballet rooted in the tradition of the Paris Opera Ballet. This program is committed to the growth of each individual student, with a strong focus on technique, artistry and musicality. Classes will be offered at the advanced beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Herrault will be joined by world-renowned guest teacher Sofiane Sylve of San Francisco Ballet.
