Detroit dance summer intensive scholarships auditionKicking off 2017, Detroit’s community dance organization ARTLAB J will host its annual Scholarship Summit on Sunday, January 8 from 1-5:30 pm in the historic Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.

ARTLAB J’s 2017 Scholarship Summit will include two workshops from master teachers based in the Southeast Michigan region, followed by a scholarship audition where dancers will learn choreography and perform in front of a panel of judges. The “one-stop” workshop and audition will feature scholarships from some of the best dance intensives and festivals in Michigan.

These include: a partial Complexions Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive Scholarship; two full ARTLAB J Summer Intensive Scholarships; two full Take Root Intensive Scholarships
; two full Detroit Dance City Festival passes; one full Ballet Detroit Summer Intensive Scholarship; one full NewDANCEfest Scholarship
; one full Eisenhower Dance Summer Intensive at the Detroit Opera House Scholarship; and two half Brighton Dance Festival Scholarships.

Focusing on dancers ages 13 to 18, ARTLAB J’s Scholarship Summit seeks to promote youth dance and participation in the metro-Detroit area. To audition, dancers must attend the workshop portion of the summit. However, dancers who do not wish to audition can just participate in the workshop section.
