Bebe Neuwirth Hosts 2011 Bessie Awards tonight

Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will host the 2011 Bessie Awards tonight, Oct. 24 at the Apollo Theatre, Harlem NY. The Bessies honor individuals in the fields of choreography, design and performance across New York. Established in 1983 the dance and performance awards are named after dance educator and mentor Bessie Schonberg.

Modern dance choreographer Trisha Brown will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the first of what will become an annual honor for choreographers. 14 other awards will also be given, and students from the Harlem School of the Arts will perform.
