CoreDance Contemporary in ‘Framework’

Australian dance troupe in New York CityCoreDance Contemporary, a dance troupe comprised of Australian performers residing in New York City, will soon present Framework, an evening-length program, at The Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn. Set for Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, Surface & Skin by Artistic Director Rebecca McCormac will have its premiere, exploring a parallel universe between the human body and architecture.

 

McCormac founded CoreDance in 2011. A graduate of the acclaimed Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), she was also a member of LINK Dance Company. She’s a registered teacher of The Royal Academy of Dance and is currently a teaching artist in and around the New York Tri-state area. She has held residency at Presbyterian Ladies College in Perth and travels back and forth between Australia and New York choreographing and teaching master classes.

 

Collaborators for Framework include photographer Eric Bandiero, graphic designer Tikiri Shapiro, costume designer Elevedancewear, and dancers Rebecca Allen, Maddison Clay, Jessica Nolan, Brittany Piazza, Quilvio Rodriguez and Ashley Zimmerman, with apprentice Madison McGain.
