Joffrey Ballet School offers peek into NYC ballet summer program

NYC Ballet Summer IntensiveAs part of a fun new video series promoting its Summer Program options, the Joffrey Ballet School in New York has released a trailer introducing its popular New York City Ballet Intensive.

In the video below, we see dancers taking part in last year’s intensive. Directed by Davis Robertson and Jo Matos, the flagship intensive focuses on classical ballet and contemporary ballet technique, pointe, variations and partnering classes. It allows students to participate from one to seven weeks, based on their schedule and availability. The intensive culminates in a student performance at a local theater on the last day.

For dancers interested in this or another Joffrey Ballet School summer intensive, they can apply to win a scholarship. In case you haven’t heard the big news, Dance Informa and the Joffrey Ballet School are offering a quarter-million dollars in summer intensive scholarships – not to mention a paid yearlong position in the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group too!
