Kick off 2017 with a New Move

Theater Dance Choreographer Steps on Broadway in New York City is kicking off its 2017 Master Class Series with industry pros like Joshua Bergasse, Shea Sullivan and Kerry Nicholls.

 

Josh Bergasse will teach Advanced Intermediate Theater Dance at select times on January 2, 4, 9 – 16, and 20. He’s known for choreographing the Broadway revival of On The Town, which opened to rave reviews. He received an Astaire Award and was nominated for TONY, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Awards. Also on Broadway, he choreographed the revival of Gigi. This spring, Bergasse will choreograph the Broadway debut of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

 

Theater Dance Choreographer Film, TV and theater choreographer Shea Sullivan will also teach Advanced Intermediate Theater Dance at Steps in the New Year. Her classes will follow Bergasse’s and are set for select times on January 23 – 27 and February 3 and 10. She recently received a Carbonell Award for choreography for the second consecutive year. She has choreographed for Pan Am (ABC), Sweet Charity (Cape Playhouse), Music Man (Maltz Jupiter) and Kiss Me Kate (Cape Playhouse). Her upcoming projects include Pageant – The Musical at New World Stages.

 

Contemporary dance teacherRespected contemporary dance teacher Kerry Nicholls will also join the lineup of Steps’ master teachers for early 2017. At select times on January 30 – February 8, she will lead Advanced Intermediate Contemporary. Nicholls regularly teaches for Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, DV8, Michael Clark and Akram Kahn companies, to name a few. She’s widely regarded as one of Britain’s leading contemporary technique teachers and she receives many invitations to teach internationally.
