Lauren Lovette to teach in Washington D.C.

Ballet in the City brings Lauren Lovette to Washington D.C.Ballet in the City, a presentation company that showcases the nation’s top professional ballet dancers for performances and masterclasses, brings New York City Ballet Principal and Choreographer Lauren Lovette to The Washington Ballet on June 10 and 11.

Lovette will teach ballet masterclasses and choreography workshops for area dancers. The classes on June 10 will be for dancers aged 8-12 with an intermediate level of training. The June 11 classes will be for dancers aged 13 and up with an advanced level of training.

Each day will consist of a ballet class and a choreography workshop, followed by a Q&A and an autograph session with Lovette. All participants will receive a signed photo of her.

“I’m delighted to have the honor of working with Ms. Lovette to present her for her first masterclasses and choreography workshops,” said Ballet in the City Executive Director and Founder Jessica Wallis. “With the success of her ballet, For Clara, at the New York City Ballet 2016 Fall Gala, it is exciting to provide young dancers the opportunity to create together in the studio with this young new choreographer.”

Tickets for the workshops are available at balletinthecity.org. These classes will mark Ballet in the City’s second trip to Washington D.C.
