Lil Buck & Martha Graham troupe collaborate

In his first commissioned work for a major dance company, Memphis Jooker Lil Buck is collaborating with the extraordinary Martha Graham Dance Company (MGDC) for a Lamentation Variation that will be premiered in Colorado at the 2017 Vail Dance Festival, which kicks off this Saturday, July 29 and runs till August 12.

Lil Buck has been in rehearsals with MGDC dancers and Artistic Director Janet Eilber for this groundbreaking new work, inspired by Martha Graham’s iconic solo Lamentation. 

Lil Buck’s Lamentation Variation will officially have its world premiere at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail, CO on Friday, August 11, as part of the one-night-only Martha Graham Dance Company performance.

Reserved seating begins at $50 and lawn ticketing starts at $23 for 18 years and older. Children ages 13-17 are $10 while those 12 and under are free on the lawn. For more information on this show, visit www.vaildance.org.
