Madonna’s DanceOn partners with Go90

Mobile choreography competitionAt the end of last month, Madonna’s DanceOn stroke up a distribution deal with mobile entertainment app Go90, announcing plans to produce over 80 hours of original content. DanceOn describes itself as “the dominant global programming brand for dance entertainment and the largest digital community of influential dancers and choreographers.” As part of this new deal, DanceOn will produce a new choreography-focused show with Nigel Lythgoe, the creator, executive producer and regular judge on So You Think You Can Dance.

Named Every Single Step, this will be the first major competition on Go90 to find the next big choreographer. Similar to SYTYCD, it will follow a reality competition format with a panel of celebrity judges weighing in. Out of 10 finalists, the ultimate winner will receive $25,000! Entrants must enter their original choreography by Wednesday, October 7 via video. For more information, head to www.danceon.com/every_single_step. Next on DanceOn’s slate is a docu-series based around the life of digital influencer and former MTV star Chachi Gonzales, who’s a member of the dance crew I.aM.mE, which won the sixth season of America’s Best Dance Crew in 2011. She boasts more than 850,000 subscribers on YouTube.

In addition to these shows, the Go90-DanceOn partnership will eventually include 27 other series, set to be released through 2017. DanceOn will also be launching its own studio that will “support production of original content for partners, which accounts for YouTube, Vessel and Go90.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Go90,” stated Amanda Taylor, CEO of DanceOn. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to build upon our original programming slate, launch new IP with our top talent and further strengthen our platform for the discovery of popular dance and music.”
