PCDC hosts NYC workshop & auditions

Peridance Contemporary Dance Company 2016 auditions and workshopNew York’s Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC) has announced that it’s annual Workshop and Company Auditions are back! The workshop will be held Monday – Friday, August 22 – 26 from noon to 2 pm each day. The company auditions will begin Saturday, August 27 at 10 am. Pre-registration is highly encouraged for both.

PCDC, founded in 1984 by Artistic Director Igal Perry, has since been known as a powerhouse of energetic and evocative dance. Perry’s choreography, which is entrenched in ballet vocabulary, is celebrated for being timelessly elegant and luminously musical. The company hosts open auditions annually and employs classically trained dancers from the U.S. and countries across Asia, Europe and South America.

Along with Executive Director Yarden Ronen-van Heerden, Perry has designed PCDC to emphasize performing diverse repertory by notable choreographers. This is featured in an annual NYC season, which serves as a launch pad for premieres and touring programs. As part of its nonprofit categorization, PCDC offers free classes and outdoor showcases to charitable organizations and schools in the city. These offerings, in addition to residency work and commissions from colleges and conservatories, balance out a full roster of creative and educational activities.

PCDC’s upcoming workshop and auditions will take place at its home, Peridance Capezio Center. For more information or to register, head to www.peridance.com.
