Take on Taylor

The Paul Taylor Dance Foundation today introduced Take On Taylor, a series of free events at the Taylor studios on Manhattan’s Lower East Side designed to delight and engage new and existing audiences with Mr. Taylor’s work. The first event in the series will be held on Sunday, September 18, with movement workshops and performances by Taylor 2.

The workshops will be led by Taylor 2 Director Ruth Andrien and members of Taylor 2, and are designed for both youth and adult dancers and non-dancers. Taylor 2 will perform Mr. Taylor’s classic dances.

Other events, to occur throughout the year, will include performances by the Paul Taylor Dance Company, additional performances by Taylor 2, lectures by dance scholars and other arts luminaries, and open houses.

“We are excited about seeing old friends and meeting new ones at these events. There will be something for everyone – dance classes, lecture-demonstrations and performances,” said Executive Director John Tomlinson. ”As we continue to inform our audiences through events like these, we look forward to having our new friends join us during our New York Season at Lincoln Center to see Mr. Taylor’s Company and perform his brilliant work on one of the most prestigious stages in the world.”
