Winifred Haun & Dancers to hold auditions

Winifred Haun & Dancers, a Chicago and Oak Park based contemporary dance company, will hold auditions for male and female dancers in September. Led by award-winning dancer and choreographer Winifred Haun, the company seeks dancers for the October 2 to May 30 contract period. The contract includes rehearsal and performance pay, with two major performances in the Chicago area and tours to Wisconsin, Michigan and New York City.

Auditions will be Sunday, September 17 from 1-4 p.m. at Lou Conte Dance Studio at the Hubbard Street Dance Center, located at 1147 W. Jackson in Chicago.

Qualified candidates will possess a strong technical background in ballet, modern and/or contemporary performing experience. They will either already have experience with aerial and circus acrobatics techniques or they’ll be willing to learn.

Candidates must be available for rehearsals on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and occasionally on Sundays as of Monday, October 2.

Finally, they must also be available for rehearsals and performances as part of the company’s fall season, with events in October in Oak Park, IL, November 30-December 2 at Links Hall, and December 7-9 in NYC.
