Winter Tap Dance Carnival to hit NYC soon

American Tap Dance FoundationThe American Tap Dance Foundation (ATDF) will soon hold a fundraising event for its ongoing adult education programs at the American Tap Dance Center in NYC. The 2018 Winter Tap Dance Carnival will present three-day courses and master classes, films, food, talks, fun, games, a raffle, auction, open rehearsals and a jam session.

 

The Advanced Beginner Course will be led by Max Pollak while the Intermediate Course will be led by Lisa La Touche. Master classes include Brazilian Carnaval Grooves with Felipe Galganni, Basic Swing by Tamisha Anthony & Craig Fuchs, Improvisation with Little Miss Duffy, Top Hat and Tales with Randy Skinner, and Comic Relief with Tony Waag.

 

Brenda Bufalino, the tap legend who received the 2016 Lifetime Achievement in Dance Award at The Bessies, will be hosting a Crazy Tea Party. Other carnival special events include “You Tramp!”, where participants create a classic “tramp” band for no good reason with Nicholas Young.
