25 Years of Optimism in Motion! BodyVox Announces 2022-23 Season

BodyVox is excited to announce their 25th Anniversary Season! The 2022-23 season will all be performed on their home stage at the BodyVox Dance Center. Headlining the season will be Pearl Dive Live, Serious Cupcakes, The SPIN, CineVox Dance Film Festival, and Junior Artist Generator Company.

The 2022-23 Season begins with the unbridled creativity of Pearl Dive Live, with works from collaborators Matt Groening, Poison Waters, Ludovico Einaudi, Lois Greenfield, and Yiyun Li. Pearl Dive Live melds creative worlds in a collaboration of movement and ideas, the likes of which have never been seen. BodyVox is flipping the script, taking the filmed episodes of Pearl Dive Project and presenting them on stage October 6-8 and 13-15, 2022.

Next, they’ll treat you to a fresh, tasty batch of Serious Cupcakes, featuring new flavors from yet-to-be-named choreographers. Get ready for a superb collection of premieres from new and newly-inspired choreographers, making delightful dances filled with BodyVox’s signature athleticism, humor, and theater. January 26-28 and February 2-4, 2023.

The SPIN returns to thrill audiences, blending dance and the spontaneity of improvisation with a game show wheel thrown into the mix. 25 possible dances will be rehearsed, costumes prepped, and dancers ready to take the stage each time the wheel lands. The SPIN offers a unique combination of dance, theater, and comedy at the hands of fate, where you, the audience, decide which of the 25 dances we perform each night! April 6-8 and 13-15, 2023.

CineVox Dance Film Festival, BodyVox’s multi-day presentation of the best new dance films, will return for its 7th year. These include both short and feature-length films from around the world as well as locally in Portland. May 11-13, 2023.

Finally, BodyVox’s elite youth training and performance company, Junior Artist Generator (JAG), will be performing innovative new choreography during their Spring show May 19-21, 2023. Always a showcase for talent and energy, JAG never fails to delight all audiences!
