ArtLab J Presents “Passport to Dance” Spring Break Camp

Learn and experience the food, culture, traditional dance and music from 5 different countries with Art Lab J’s “Passport to Dance” Spring Break Camp. Passport to Dance offers campers a unique way to experience different cultures and societies as we navigate the world through the different countries’ respective art, dance, and education. Who says you have to leave town to experience other parts of the world?

Campers will “visit” Korea, Africa, Brazil, Mexico and Russia during this four-day camp. ArtLab J’s Kids Dance Camp focuses on their belief that dance is for everyone. This interactive dance camp gives children aged 4-8 the opportunity to explore their creative instincts, expand their imaginations, and develop life skills like teamwork and self-discipline.

During the day, students will partake in a group warm-up, followed by an exciting dance & creative movement class. Creative activities will integrate books, learning aids and unique props. ArtLab J’s camp is designed to help kids of all ages find personal growth and achievement through the art of dance.

ArtLab J’s camp schedule also includes hand washing, bathroom breaks, rest time, lunch, and snacks.

Dedicated to the art of dance in the city of Detroit, ArtLab J strives to create spaces where people of all ages and abilities can learn and grow and connect through dance and culture. Founded in 2012 by Artistic Director Joori Jung, ArtLab J develops a robust set of programming under its three core branches— Dance, Lab and Education— all of which function to advance the dance arts and connect people.

Passport to Dance will take place March 28 – April 1, 2022 from 9 AM-4 PM each day. Early bird (by February 1st) cost is $250. After February 1st, cost increases to $275. Daily drop-in is $65, if space is available. Space is limited! For more information on ArtLab J’s Passport to Dance Spring Break Camp, email or visit
