Avant Chamber Ballet presents The Nutcracker with live orchestra

Avant Chamber Ballet brings Paul Mejia’s The Nutcracker with live orchestra to life this December 9-11th at Moody Performance Hall with five performances. This is the third year of this full production of The Nutcracker in the Dallas Arts District with live music but larger than ever with full cast of professional dancers.

“This is the biggest production of the season for Avant Chamber Ballet and sells out every year! We are happy to now present five performances at Moody Performance Hall so everyone get’s to enjoy Paul Mejia’s amazing version of The Nutcracker,” says Ms. Puder.

The Nutcracker’s brilliant Tchaikovsky score will be brought to life with live music conducted by Brad Cawyer and an orchestra of all local musicians. Lighting design will be by renowned designer Tony Tucci who is known for his work across America including American Ballet Theater, Ballet Austin, and Houston Ballet. 

Performances will be as follows: December 9, 2022, 7:30pm; December 10, 2022, 2:30pm; December 10, 2022, 7:30pm; December 11, 2022, 12:30pm; and December 11, 2022, 5:30pm.

Avant Chamber Ballet’s mission is to bring exceptional live dance and chamber music together for audiences in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Their ensemble of classically trained dancers presents a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary works from local choreographers, as well as internationally acclaimed artists. Since their inaugural season in 2012, ACB has presented over twenty world premiere ballets. The organization is in its tenth season, and is led by artistic director Katie Puder.
