Ballet Hispanico returns to Guild Hall

Ballet Hispanico in CARMEN.maquiaBallet Hispanico, recognized as the nation’s leading Latino dance organization since 1970, returns to Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York on Saturday, July 25 after a sold-out performance last year.

Ballet Hispanico will perform CARMEN.maquia, which has been hailed as a “masterpiece” by Chicago Sun-Times. This work mirrors Bizet’s iconic opera about a passionate gypsy and promises to be riveting from start to finish.

The physically-charged, sensual choreography fuses contemporary dance with flamenco and the Spanish paso doble. With a visual concept inspired by Picasso’s black-and-white palette, and movement that is full of elaborate partnering, CARMEN.maquia is a bold and electrifying reimagining of Bizet’s fiery and tragic tale.

The performance starts at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20 general admission ($18 for members) and are free to students. To book tickets, visit www.guildhall.org or call 631-324-4050.
