Ballet Theatre of Phoenix & Convergence Ballet celebrate diverse cultures in The Nutcracker

Ballet Theatre of Phoenix will present two fully staged performances of The Nutcracker, December 3 at 7 pm and December 4 at 11 am and 3 pm at the auditorium of Horizon High School, 5601 N. Greenway Road.

Featuring the professional dancers from Convergence Ballet and students from Ballet Theatre of Phoenix, this year’s production will include authentic flamenco, Classical Indian and Russian folk dancers to perform the iconic “Dances of the Sweets” in the second act.

The Nutcracker features Soleil Vessel as Clara, Jorge Richard Lagunas Guerrero as The Prince and Jacqueline Gionet as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Russian folk dancers Victoria Lazareva and Pasha Getman, Spanish Flamenco dancers from Ay Flamenco!- Yumi La Rosa Flamenco Student Company and Silambam’s Bharatanatyam Classical Indian dancers will bring their authentic performers to crate the fantasy land of the Sweets.

Swing into the Holidays with Convergence Ballet and Ballet Theatre of Phoenix production of The Nutcracker. This fully staged ballet features an innovative approach to a traditional holiday classic, featuring the original Tchaikovsky score. Affordable for the entire family.
