JacoTayl Dance! presents: Minutes

This March JacoTayl Dance! is proud to present the world premier of Minutes at Arts on Site NYC choreographed by Artistic Director Jacob Taylor. JacoTayl Dance! is an emerging contemporary dance company dedicated to presenting and preserving the creative works of choreographer Jacob Taylor. This evening of new work will feature innovative, inventive, and exciting new movement that is a culmination of Mr. Taylor’s experiences in life and dance.

The cast is comprised of eight talented professional dancers from New York City and the surrounding areas hand picked by Mr. Taylor for the premier of Minutes

Choreographed by Jacob Taylor, and set to an eclectic and diverse range of music by Philip Glass, Polo & Pan, Asger Baden, and Gillian Hills, the evening will follow the lives of eight women through an array of emotional struggles, roadblocks, setbacks but ultimately victories. Displaying both their inner turmoil and moments of joy and elation. The evening will celebrate the diverse and unique aspects of these women and how they move throughout the world. It is a celebration of their individuality while also examining the importance of having connection and community. 

Artistic Director Jacob Taylor says, “This evening is sure to be an exciting event of new performance art that will intrigue and excite audiences of all backgrounds.”

Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the prestigious Ballet Performance Program at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and his performance career includes dancing with Boulder Ballet, Christopher Caines Dance, Eglevsky Ballet, FJK Dance, Lydia Johnson Dance, New Jersey Ballet, Rebecca Kelly Ballet, and Staten Island Ballet. Mr. Taylor has taught ballet at Peridance Capezio Center, Colorado Ballet Academy, and Ridgefield School of Dance. He has been commissioned to choreograph new works for Boulder Ballet, Colorado Ballet Academy, IU Opera Theatre and the “Shut Up and Dance” festival with dancers of Philadelphia Ballet.

Performances of JacoTayl Dance!’s Minutes will take place March 17 at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. General admission tickets are $30 and can be found here.
