Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing Tatum to produce NBC dance show

Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing TatumIt’s been announced that one of our favorite dancing couples is set to executive produce a new dance show on NBC – dancer-actress Jenna Dewan Tatum and her husband, fellow dancer-actor Channing Tatum!

Dubbed a dance competition reality show, the yet-to-be-named series has been green lighted for six episodes. It will be the first series produced by Jenna’s production company Purple Cup Productions. According to Deadline, Jenna will serve as the show’s judge and mentor, with Channing set to make an appearance as well.

The couple, which first fell in love acting as the stars in dance cult classic Step Up, recently competed on Spike’s popular Lip Sync Battle, achieving record ratings.

Jenna posted on her social media that she’s so excited to share about this new project. She said, “Dance is one of my biggest passions and can’t wait to bring this to you guys!”

In the past, Jenna has had a recurring presence on So You Think You Can Dance, either as a guest judge or special performer. (Remember her dance with Travis Wall at the end of last season? If not, watch it here.) She’s currently playing Lucy Lane on CBS’s Supergirl.

Personally, we think this news couldn’t come at a better time! Step Up, the film that originally brought this Tatum dream-team together in 2006, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this August!

Stay tuned for more details on this new NBC show!
