New England Ballet Theatre Presents: The Fantastic Toyshop

New England Ballet Theatre (NEBT) presents: The Fantastic Toyshop on Saturday December 3rd at 7:00 p.m, and Sunday December 4th at 2pm at the Theater of the Performing Arts, 359 Washington St Hartford, CT 06106.

This holiday season New England Ballet Theatre is proud to present their original holiday ballet The Fantastic Toyshop. In its second year, the production has grown to feature a new snow scene and costumes by NEBT Costume Director, Fiona Connolly. The cast is comprised of dancers from the professional company alongside students from The School of NEBT.

Choreographed by Artistic & Executive Director Rachael Gnatowski, The Fantastic Toyshop is set in 1943 and follows a young girl, Virginia, and her mother on Christmas Eve. Despite her father being away at war, Virginia is determined to make this holiday special. Join her as she meets magical dancing dolls at the G. Fox & Co. Toyshop, and find out what surprises the Delivery Man and his mischievous elves have in store. With costumes modeled after local buildings (such as the Colt Armory) and even Beatrice Fox Auerbach as a character herself, this ballet is truly dedicated to the local community.

Executive and Artistic Director Rachael Gnatowski says, “This holiday ballet has something for everyone, with dancing dolls, magical elves, and a heartwarming story about the value of family. We hope you will celebrate this holiday season with us.”
