Rambert’s youth company holds auditions
Quicksilver is a youth dance company managed by London’s contemporary ensemble Rambert. It is inviting dancers aged 16-24 to audition for a place in its group starting this fall.
Led by Artistic Director Laura Harvey, Quicksilver is a challenging and exciting opportunity for dancers wishing to work in a professional environment, develop existing contemporary dance technique, work choreographically and participate in performance opportunities. The company meets on a weekly basis to take class and rehearse and then more frequently leading up to performances.
Most recently, Quicksilver were selected to take part in the Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival in Glasgow, spending three days in July performing and taking masterclasses with young dancers from all over the Commonwealth. Previous projects include the ReFresh Festival at The Place, the opening of the Eurostar at St. Pancras International Station, performances at the Lilian Baylis Studio and Queen Elizabeth Hall, and site-specific works as part of Big Dance. Previous company members have gone on to secure places in vocational schools and in jobs across the dance sector.
Auditions for Quicksilver will be held on Wednesday, September 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rambert Studios, located at 99 Upper Ground in London.
To register, dancers must download and complete an application form and then email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are due by Wednesday, September 3.
Dancers from all backgrounds and styles are welcome to apply. Visit www.rambert.org.uk for more information.
