sjDANCEco presents Spring Dance Festival April 23 & 24 in San Jose
sjDANCEco will present their free Spring Dance Festival this April 23 & 24 at Eastridge Center Mall in San Jose, to celebrate National Dance Week. Over sixty Bay Area dance organizations, from young children to professional companies and everything in between, will present many styles of dance on the Eastridge festival stage during a free non-stop 7-hour program each day.
The professional dance portions of the show are from 12:00noon to 1:00pm and 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Free dance classes will be offered at 11:00am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 5:00pm. The celebration is part of Bay Area Dance Week and National Dance Week (April 15-24, 2022) and showcases the diversity of the Bay Area dance community. Classes in Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Hula, Classical, and more will be featured.
sjDANCEco is a year-round contemporary dance company based in San Jose, California that produces world premieres by its core and guest choreographers, and presents the very best of Contemporary and Classic Modern Dance and Masterpieces of the American Modern Dance Repertory. In addition to a full season of dance concerts, sjDANCEco also is a major participant each Spring in free outdoor dance presentations during National Dance Week, international dance festivals, and has a full schedule of contemporary dance classes for the advanced and professional dancer.
Founded in 2003 to meet the need for contemporary dance opportunities, sjDANCEco serves both the community of San Jose residents and the community of local dance artists. They have put into place exemplary programs which enable local residents to experience top quality contemporary dance performances. Additionally, they have introduced new audiences to dance and, through consistent excellence in their performance series, strive to instill a lasting appreciation for the art form. sjDANCEco ignites the spirit of dance.
