The Auditorium Theatre proudly presents Deeply Rooted Dance Theater for one night only

The Auditorium Theatre (Chicago’s landmark stage at 50 E. Ida B. Wells Drive) proudly presents Deeply Rooted Dance Theater—a Chicago-based African-American contemporary dance company—in a one-night-only performance Saturday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the theatre’s Chicago Dance series. Tickets are $25–69 and are available at auditoriumtheatre.org.

The program features the world premiere of Q After Dark,a joyous celebration of the music of Chicago’s legendary Quincy Jones. The Deeply Rooted dancers perform choreography by the company’s Artistic Team—Artistic Director Nicole Clarke-Springer, Associate Artistic Director Gary Abbott, Rehearsal Director Joshua L. Ishmon, and Creative/Executive Director Kevin Iega Jeff—with live music by a super-ensemble of musicians led by Sam Thousand. Other works on the program will be announced.

Premiering in 1996, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater reimagines and diversifies the aesthetics of contemporary dance by uniting modern, classical, American, and African-American traditions in dance and storytelling. Through its uncompromising pursuit of excellence, Deeply Rooted demonstrates the transformative power of art and beauty through performance, dance education, and cultural enrichment in Chicago and on the world stage.
