The PULSE’s 14th Annual Teacher Workshop
The 14th Annual Teacher Workshop, presented by The PULSE and Broadway Dance Center, will bring together master faculty from The PULSE and BDC to commune with dance teachers from all over the globe – it’s “Teachers teaching Teachers!” This workshop is designed specifically for studio owners, teachers and teaching assistants.
Held at the Grand Hyatt New York on July 25-27, the workshop will present over 50 classes and seminars for attendees to choose from. Featuring all styles of dance, these include: contemporary ballet, street jazz, hip-hop basics, tap techniques and drills, partnering 101, progressions, strictly jazz, yoga for dancers, children’s work, commercial jazz, simply musical theater, Latin jazz, and technical and fun warm-ups. Specialized classes will also cover topics such as strengthening your core, moving beyond the technique, exploring all levels, making music with your body, conquering new floor work, sticking those jumps and turns, and more.
The all-star instructor lineup includes BDC master faculty, NYC guests and The PULSE celebrity choreographers, including Brian Friedman, Cris Judd, Laurieann Gibson, Dave Scott, Gil Duldulao, Tyce Diorio, Desmond Richardson, Brooke Lipton, Tessandra Chavez, Ian Eastwood and PULSE Emcee Carmit Bachar.
As a certified and accredited workshop, this event will not just provide top-of-the-line instruction, but a chance to be recharged, re-inspired and refreshed all while building your resume. Studio owners will be offered seminars just for them, discussing topics like PR for your studio, website tips, college advice, business strategies, pre-dance ideas, increasing revenue in today’s economy, nutrition for dancers, injury prevention, competition 101, avoiding creative blocks, recital suggestions, retail training, how to prepare your dancers for the “real world” and more!
Choreographers will be offered seminars in which they can find their creative voice, showcase their work and learn how to utilize choreography labs, programs and classes to further hone their skill.
Special events will be offered as well, including: a Creative Connect, a sit-down event with PULSE faculty; a wine and cheese soiree hosted by Discount Dance Supply at Broadway Dance Center; discount shopping with Capezio; and the PULSE Final Night Gala.
