TIPDI’s ‘Move Up’ Dance Camp for Adults

Move Up Dance Camp for AdultsThe International Partner Dance Intensive (TIPDI), launched a few years ago by Paula Wilson in New York City, is preparing to offer its first “Move Up” Dance Camp for Adults on April 15-17. This weekend event directed by Wilson and Ken Kreshtool will feature ballet, modern and contemporary classes geared towards adult learners with or without prior dance experience, ages 21 and older.

All classes are leveled at Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. No prior dance training of any kind is required to join the Beginner classes. Participants will improve their lines, power, flexibility, balance and musicality over the course of the three-night, two-day program.

The classes are promised to be “fun, informative, non-competitive and designed to make you a better dancer in a short amount of time.” There is also the option of participating in an open studio showing for the public at the end of the weekend.

The dance camp staff includes: Elizabeth Douglas for Ballet (Steps on Broadway, Ballet Hispanico and Xodus Dance Collective); Sasha Soreff for Modern (Ailey School, Gibney Dance and Sasha Soreff Dance Theater); and Wes Veldink for Contemporary (Broadway Dance Center, Choreographer of Alicia Keys’ “Set the World on Fire” Tour and Michael Jackson’s double.)
