Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida Joins Miami-Dade Public Schools in Annual Signing Event at The Bass Museum

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is proud to announce its official inclusion in this year’s Letter of Understanding signing ceremony hosted by the Arts Access Team of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). The event took place at the iconic Bass Museum in Miami Beach, bringing together 12 distinguished partner organizations committed to enhancing arts education across the county.

This important affiliation formalizes the theatre’s continued partnership with MDCPS and underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to expanding arts accessibility in public education. These agreements ensure alignment of goals and facilitate a strong, united launch into the 2025 academic year.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida was also recently awarded the Catalyst Grant from The Miami Foundation, which will allow the company to continue its successful in-residence outreach initiative, Arts Ballet Goes to School, at Ojus Elementary School, Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, and David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center.

During the ceremony, Superintendent Dr. José L. Dotres personally signed the affiliation agreements and presented each organization with a certificate of recognition. Representing Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida was Executive Director Ruby Romero-Issaev, who graciously passed the honor to Administrative Director Ricardo Montealegre and Kirsty Walker, a professional dancer and instructor currently leading the program at the three participating schools.

“This recognition highlights the impact of our work and the importance of providing quality arts education for all children, regardless of their background,” said Romero-Issaev. “We are proud to stand alongside inspiring organizations such as Ruta Teatral, Karen Peterson Dancers, and Teeny Violini in this shared mission.”

The celebration comes on the heels of successful student showcases at each participating school, where children presented the skills they learned throughout the residency to an enthusiastic audience of teachers, parents, and peers.
