Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida Announces Exciting 2024-2025 Season Lineup
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, directed by Maestro Vladimir Issaev, is thrilled to announce its dynamic 2024-2025 season, featuring a captivating blend of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary ballet performances that promise to enchant audiences.
The season opens with a stunning mixed program that seamlessly intertwines classical and neoclassical ballets. Audiences will be mesmerized by Vicente Nebrada’s Una Danza Para Ti, a high-energy, technically demanding piece for five couples set to the vibrant music of several Venezuelan composers. The company’s male dancers will then take the stage in Vladimir Issaev’s Vuelo, performed to Anton Arensky’s evocative “Nocturne”. Program 1 continues with Alberto Méndez’s contemporary ballet Eros’ Game, formerly as “Suite Generis” danced to the music of Handel and Haydn. The evening culminates in the world-renowned classical ballet Paquita,choreographed by Marius Petipa and set to the music of Ludwig Minkus, showcasing the exquisite technique and breathtaking corps de ballet work of Arts Ballet Theatre’s dancers.
This exciting season also includes our participation in several prestigious events. Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will perform at the International Ballet Festival of Miami, the Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler, and the Men Who Dance Festival, highlighting their commitment to excellence and vibrant presence in the dance community.
As the holiday season approaches, Arts Ballet Theatre invites you to experience the magic of Vladimir Issaev’s The Nutcracker. This beloved classic, set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, brings to life a world of snowflakes, sugarplums, and magical dolls. Professional dancers, alongside talented local children, will create a heartwarming and enchanting performance that captures the spirit of the season and ignites a lifelong passion for dance in young audiences.
In the winter, Arts Ballet Theatre celebrates the works of Sergei Prokofiev and Maurice Ravel with a unique mixed bill. The program opens with Issaev’s excerpts of The Tale of the Stone Flower, a beautiful narrative of love and perseverance. Arts Ballet will revive Issaev’s Classic Symphony, a vibrant and dynamic ballet that has become an audience favorite. Program III will include Bolero, choreographed by guest Miao Zong and performed to Maurice Ravel’s mesmerizing score, with the addition of Aldemaro Romero’s Quinta Anauco. This program promises to captivate and inspire with its blend of classic and contemporary elements.
The season reaches its grand finale with Arts Ballet Theatre’s Spring Gala, an exhilarating production that blends the worlds of ballet and opera. The evening features Harlequinade, a lively one-act ballet with an aria that enhances the whimsical tale of Harlequin and Columbine. They also present excerpts from Issaev’s La Favorita, from Donizetti’s beloved opera, and Markitanka (La Vivandière), choreographed to the delightful music of Cesare Pugni. The highlight of the gala is the exquisite pas de deux from La Traviata, set to Giuseppe Verdi’s iconic score, capturing the deep emotions and tragic beauty of Verdi’s opera. This final program promises to leave audiences inspired and uplifted, celebrating the enduring power and beauty of these timeless art forms.
Looking ahead, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is excited to participate in the International Young Dancers Festival, to be held in Germany during the spring of 2025.
