Avant Chamber Ballet presents ‘Rhythm & Romance’

Avant Chamber Ballet presents Rhythm & Romance, two captivating Valentine’s weekend performances at Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District.

The first is Rhythm & Romance. It offers a romantic evening of inspiring ballets accompanied by live musicians. This program takes place on Friday, February 14, 2026, at 7:30 PM and Saturday, February 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The second is Peter and the Wolf. It is a delightful, family-friendly ballet adventure featuring a chamber orchestra and bilingual narration. This performance is scheduled for Friday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

For Valentine’s Day, Rhythm & Romance will immerse you in the celebration of movement and music. The program is a series of four ballets inspired by the amazing live music that will accompany the dancers. The evening will include George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie set to music by Mikhail Glinka; Paul Mejia’s Cafe Victoria with tangoes of Astor Piazzolla; and Katie Puder’s Bartok Duets using the famous Bartok violin duets. The evening also includes Puder’s Sisterhood featuring music by Dallas-native composer Quinn Mason.

The Family Series performance on February 14th will be Peter and the Wolf featuring a chamber orchestra conducted by Brad Cawyer. Throughout this imaginative retelling, each musical instrument represents a character and helps introduce the sounds of the live orchestra to children. Paul Mejia’s choreography will draw audiences of all ages into the symphonic tale, while bilingual narration is a perfect addition to the storytelling aspect for children.

These shows are perfect for romance seekers and families alike. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy beautiful dance paired with live music in the heart of Dallas.
