BodyVox is excited to announce a new Board of Directors and slate of leadership for their 2024-25 season

BodyVox thanks outgoing Board Chair Hong Mautz and welcomes the new Co-Chairs Jamey Hamption and Ashley Roland.

Hampton and Roland founded BodyVox 28 years ago as the Artistic Directors and members of the Board. Moving forward they will direct their focus on creation and leadership, empowering Daniel Kirk as Associate Artistic Director to manage the day-to-day operations of  BodyVox productions and dancers. Daniel Kirk is a founding dancer of BodyVox, who has contributed artistically as well as culturally to the fabric of BodyVox leading him to be named Associate Artistic Director in 2019. Daniel has been a key figure in the Portland dance scene since 1989, and brings his vast experience to the position.

Brent Leubbert, a veteran company dancer, will be promoted to Artistic Associate; and fellow company dancer Theresa Hanson, to Rehearsal Assistant.

BodyVox will also see a change in the administrative leadership: Director of Operations, Tasha Hamilton will take over leadership of general operations, as Nephi Sanchez will step away and join BodyVox as a member of the Finance Committee. The Dance Center will also be helmed by Asteria Howard, who has been promoted to Dance Center General Manager.

The 2024-25 Season will be kicked off with BloodyVox – a Halloween season comedy-thriller with a regional touring schedule as well as a local production at the PAM CUT theater bringing live dance and film together.

The Holiday Season will see a new installment of the ever-popular Cupcakes series entitled Serious Seasonal Cupcakes, which will feature independent guest choreographers with diverse and unique styles and backgrounds, creating a truly dynamic experience.

Then February of 2025 will feature a CineVox THREE NIGHT PACKAGE featuring dance on film. The season will wrap in May with a newly-minted Spring Repertory comprised of BodyVox’s greatest hits and company favorites before heading to NYC where they will be performing the show at the acclaimed Mark Morris Center. May will also feature the Junior Artist Generators Showcase featuring our second company and youth dancers.
