EMERGE125’s 2024 Alaska Tour
EMERGE125 is proud to announce a 10-city tour this fall across Alaska, the Land of the Midnight Sun. This bold expansion of E125’s territory to the far north runs from September 8 to October 23, the longest running and most expansive tour by any dance company in Alaska’s modern history. An 8-member iteration of the company will be presenting five finely tuned pieces by E125’s Artistic Director, Tiffany Rea-Fisher at Sitka, Petersburg, Haines, Skagway, Anchorage, Homer, Ketchikan, Fairbanks, Kodiak and Seward.
In addition to these public performances, EMERGE125 will also be offering education, community outreach classes and workshops, each specially tailored to the communities we are serving. EMERGE125 has a dynamic range that will surely encapsulate the possibilities of dance under the Northern lights.
Performing company members at these dates include dancers Madelyn LaLonde, Alyssa Manginaro, Briana Marsiello, Caitlyn Morgan, Trey Singletary, Tiffany Terry, Nikaio Thomashow, and Travon Williams.
This historic tour is made possible through generous encouragement and support from Sitka Fine Arts, the Petersburg Arts Council, the Haines Arts Council, the Skagway Arts Council, the Anchorage Concert Association, the Homer Council on the Arts, Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council, the Fairbanks Concert Association, the Kodiak Arts Council and the Seward Arts Council. Special thanks to Jodi Kaplan of Jodi Kaplan & Associates | BOOKING DANCE for this incredible opportunity!
EMERGE125 is a Black female-led hub for movement, creation, and education led by Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher. EMERGE125’s mission emphasizes three main objectives: CREATE with and for a corps of professional dancers; EDUCATE individuals in the art of movement and in appreciation of live dance performance; and ENGAGE an ever-growing audience through community-building and civic engagement activities. At the heart of each objective is the idea that dance can and should be used as a tool for expanding empathy and promoting social change.
