MOVE|NYC| Young Professionals New York Summer Intensive Culminates in Exciting Lineup of World Premieres

Co-Founders Chanel DaSilva and Nigel Campbell and Executive Director Niya Nicholson announce LET’S. MOVE. NOW. Young Professionals Ensemble Concerts on Saturday, August 23rd at 2 pm and 6 pm and on Sunday, August 24th with Champagne Brunch at Noon and Concert at 2pm at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street in New York City. The Young Professionals Ensemble is MOVE|NYC|’s acclaimed professional youth company. MOVE|NYC| is a civic arts and social justice organization committed to cultivating a more diverse and inclusive society through transforming the field of professional dance.

Performances mark the culmination of the tuition-free, three-week 2025 MOVE|NYC| Summer Intensive for dancers, ages 13 to 18, in the Young Professionals Program, a year-round mentorship and college/conservatory prep program. The Summer Intensive is designed for New York City teenagers who demonstrate exceptional potential for a career in dance.  

“MOVE|NYC| Young Professionals are exposed to the rigor of a professional dance career as they develop into versatile, socially conscious, and well-rounded artists. The Summer Intensive helps to propel each young dancer to the next phase of their technical and artistic training,” said Chanel DaSilva, MOVE|NYC| Co-Founder & CEO of Strategy & New Initiatives.

This series is the grand finale of MOVE|NYC|’s 10th Anniversary Season. “We are thrilled to present the Young Professionals Ensemble Concert to share our joy of dance and express the transformative power of art with world premieres by renowned and emerging choreographers,” said MOVE|NYC| Nigel Campbell, Co-Founder, Artistic Director & CEO of Programming & Artist Development. “Our goal has always been to cultivate a dance field more reflective of the world. We are proud to continue doing this work with rigor, artistic excellence, and diversity at the forefront! “

On August 23rd and August 24th at New York Live Arts, the Young Professionals Ensemble will perform an exciting lineup of six commissioned world premieres by Princess Grace Award winners Keerati  Jinakunwhiphat, Roderick George and Tamisha Guy, Broadway veteran Shonica Gooden, Young Professionals Program Alum Carlos Franquiz, and renowned NYC choreographer Ian DaSilva.
