New England Ballet Theatre Presents “La Sylphide”
New England Ballet Theatre (NEBT) is thrilled to present the timeless classic La Sylphide on June 7 at 7:00 PM and June 8 at 2:00 PM at the Hacker Theater at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT.
This enchanting production will showcase a cast of over 50 students and 18 professional dancers, including approximately 20 talented students selected through an open audition held in early March.
NEBT is especially excited to announce that the lead role of James will be performed by Elias Re, a distinguished guest artist from the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Born in Milan, Italy, Elias has trained at world-renowned institutions including La Scala Ballet School, Sarasota Cuban Ballet School, and the Escuela Nacional de Ballet de Cuba. His artistry and powerful stage presence bring a dynamic energy to this beloved romantic ballet.
A highlight of this production is the stunning new costumes designed by Fiona Burlin, along with special, custom-made costumes crafted for our students by renowned Brazilian costume maker, LeGrand Costumes.
Additionally, La Sylphide will feature dancers from NEBT’s new program, Bridges to Ballet, an adaptive ballet initiative that fosters inclusivity and accessibility in the art of dance.
