Peridance and Drew Jacoby develop new summer intensive

Peridance Capezio Center has collaborated with Drew Jacoby to develop a new Summer Intensive called BLUEPRINT. This 2-week Intensive for pre-professional and professional Ballet and Contemporary dancers, ages 16-22 will run from August 20 – September 1, 2012. The Intensive will bridge the gap between classical ballet technique and the innovation of the contemporary scene by bringing dancers face-to-face with current, influential faculty from both genres.

Faculty will include American Ballet Theater’s Susan Jaffe, Wendy Whelan of New York City

Ballet, and long-time Frankfurt Ballet member, Helen Pickett among others. The program will

culminate in a performance in the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, giving participants

the unique experience of performing on a New York City stage.

In addition to NYC auditions at Peridance, Peridance Capezio Center will conduct an audition

tour in Washington D.C., Chicago, Dallas, and Miami. At these auditions, students can audition

for BLUEPRINT, Peridance’s Certificate Program (ages 17-25) and the Peridance Summer

Intensive (ages 12-17). All students must pre-register online to audition.
