Visceral Dance Chicago begins 2nd season
Visceral Dance Chicago is the Windy City’s newest contemporary dance company dedicated to presenting intriguing, innovative contemporary dance from diverse choreographic voices. Following its highly celebrated inaugural season, Visceral will grow its repertoire in the 2014-15 year.
The company will present world premieres by Brian Enos, Harrison McEldowney and Banning Boulding. Visceral will also have the great honor of presenting and performing a company premiere by in-demand Israeli contemporary choreographer Ohad Naharin, perhaps better known as “Mr. Gaga” for inventing a new movement style with his troupe, Batsheva Dance Company.
For the new season, Visceral Artistic Director Nick Pupillo, who formerly danced with Giordano Dance Chicago, will create two new works: a solo work with cellist Desiree Miller and a full company piece.
After performing at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in October, Visceral will return to the Harris Theater for Music and Dance at Millennium Park for its fall and spring engagements. Fall performances are set for November 21 and 22. For more information, visit www.visceraldance.com.
