World-renowned dance returns to the Vilar Performing Arts Center with the 2025 winter dance series
The Vail Valley Foundation’s Vilar Performing Arts Center will kick off its highly anticipated 2025 winter dance series on Jan. 21 with an extraordinary lineup of world-renowned dance companies and performers. The series features four distinct productions that showcase the diversity and excellence of contemporary dance.
“We are thrilled to present dance at the highest level in our intimate mountain venue, from contemporary ballet to innovative partnerships,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “The talent that graces the stage of this theater is exceptional, and we’re fortunate to offer our community performances that push the boundaries of artistic expression.”
The series opens Jan. 21 with the return of Ballet Hispánico in a mixed-bill program that includes the iconic “Club Havana” by choreographer Pedro Ruiz. A favorite of both the Vilar and Vail Dance Festival, Ballet Hispánico has been recognized as one of America’s cultural treasures by the Ford Foundation. With over 50 years of innovative artistry, this renowned company has transformed the way Latino/e culture is celebrated on the global stage, performing for more than 2.5 million people across three continents.
On Feb. 16, audiences will experience the unique collaboration of pianist Conrad Tao and tap dancer Caleb Teicher in “Counterpoint.” This innovative performance weaves together classical masterpieces, including Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, with the choreography and rhythms of one of the world’s best tap dancers. This performance is presented in partnership with Vail Dance Festival.
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago takes the stage on Mar. 8, bringing their globally acclaimed contemporary dance repertory to Beaver Creek. For 47 years, this company has been at the forefront of contemporary dance, performing in 19 countries and 44 US states.
The series concludes on Apr. 1 with Circa: “Humans 2.0,” a breathtaking fusion of acrobatics, sound, and light. This next-level circus performance pushes physical limits to their extreme, creating a symphony of movement that challenges our understanding of human capability.
All performances in the 2025 dance series offer student ticket rates and are available as part the Vilar’s “Pick 3/5/8” ticket package program, allowing patrons to create their own series and save significantly.
