Oklahoma City Ballet presents triple bill

Oklahoma City Ballet premieres new CarmenNext month, Oklahoma City Ballet will present a triple bill evening of dance featuring Jacob Sparso’s Carmen, the Oklahoma premiere of George Balanchine’s Rubies and a world premiere ballet by award-winning choreographer Matthew Neenan. OKC Ballet performs this program on February 7-9 at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City.

JR featured for the New York City Ballet 2014 Art SeriesNew York City Ballet presents the second installation of its acclaimed Art Series initiative during the company’s 2014 Winter Season. Conceived in 2013, the NYCB Art Series features annual collaborations between the company and contemporary visual artists who create original works inspired by NYCB that are then exhibited at the company’s home, the David H. Koch Theater. For this Art Series, NYCB has commissioned an installation from JR, the French-born artist best known for his grand-scale public photography projects.

Chris Ferris & Dancers in Circuitous BodyFLICfest (Feature-Length Independent Choreography) is the first Brooklyn festival dedicated solely to the art of the feature-length dance. Each night of FLICfest features complete works by two choreographers, as well as informal cabaret performances encompassing a wide range of styles. For the 2014 event, FLICfest will present 12 world premieres by 12 choreographers over six nights spread out over two weekends.
