Little Women Ballet Company partners with Pasadena Civic Ballet to offer Choreography Mentorship Program
Little Women Ballet Company is excited to announce a new partnership with Pasadena Civic Ballet to launch the Choreography Mentorship Program, a four-week summer intensive designed for young dancers ready to explore the creative side of their art.
Every dancer has a story to tell. This program invites movers ages 13 to 18 to step behind the curtain and into the choreographic process. In a supportive, judgment-free environment, participants will be guided through every stage of creation, from the first spark of an idea to a fully realized piece ready for the stage.
Students will explore storytelling through movement, musicality and how rhythm, dynamics, and silence shape expression, as well as creative leadership skills such as directing other dancers and trusting their own artistic instincts. Each participant will create their own original choreography with hands-on mentorship and guidance. The program culminates in an informal studio presentation where family and friends can celebrate the students’ work. In addition, one outstanding piece will be selected for performance at Pasadena Civic Ballet’s Solo Fête 2026.
No previous choreography experience is required, only curiosity, openness, and a passion for dance. The program is ideal for any young dancer who finds themselves imagining movement in their head, wonders how dances are made, or dreams of developing their own artistic voice.
The Choreography Mentorship Program will run from July 19 through August 14, 2026, with exact days to be announced soon. All sessions will take place at Pasadena Civic Ballet’s studio located at 253 N. Vinedo Ave, Pasadena, CA 91107.
Spaces are limited. Families interested in giving a young dancer this unique opportunity to create, lead, and express themselves through choreography are encouraged to inquire and register promptly.
