The Avant Chamber Ballet 2023-24 season is the biggest yet and is on sale now. Single tickets to all performances are available for purchase, including the annual sell-out production of The Nutcracker in both Dallas and Fort Worth debut with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

“This will be a landmark season,” said Artistic Director Katie Puder. “The company of dancers are the strongest we have ever been and the programming is ballet at its best – two full-length world premieres, two mixed repertoire shows of new works and one-act classics, plus expanding our Nutcracker production with our collaboration with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.”

The season starts with the world premiere of Katie Puder’s Dracula, with a score by Philip Glass, October 27-28th at Moody Performance Hall. The dramatic score was created by Glass to accompany the 1931 horror film classic Dracula and tells the suspenseful and gripping story reimagined to reflect our modern times.

Next is Paul Mejia’s The Nutcrackerat Moody Performance Hall December 8-10, and the Ft Worth premiere of ACB at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium in Ft Worth December 22-23 with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. This lush, professional production conducted by Brad Cawyer, features the professional dancers of ACB, and a large children’s cast representing all of DFW from local auditions. The Fort Worth performances will be the first production of ACB in the city and the first collaboration with Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra collaboration. It will also be the first time there has been a performance of The Nutcracker in Fort Worth with a live orchestra since 2007.

2024 starts with Star-Crossed: Romeo & Juliet + Swan Lake Act 2February 17-18 at Moody Performance Hall. The program is a triple bill including George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht Ballet, the premiere of Katie Puder’s Swan Lake Act 2 and Paul Mejia’s Romeo & Juliet. Live orchestra will accompany this evening of ballet masterpieces telling tales of romance and enchantment, true love and sacrifice.

In March the company presents Women’s Choreography Project: an exciting evening of world premieres and commissions with live music in an intimate setting that lets you experience dancing up close and meet the artists after the performance. The program features new works by female-identifying choreographers who are under-represented voices in the creation process in the world of dance.  The ticket includes a post-performance reception with an open bar and appetizers with the artists. Seating is limited to just 100 guests.

To finish the season ACB presents the second full-length world premiere with Katie Puder’s Snow White with a score by Tchaikovsky plus new charming sets and costumes, this is Avant Chamber Ballet at its best: bringing together world-class dance and live orchestra with enchanting family entertainment and story-telling.
