Ballet Hispánico opens Dancers’ Workshop 2024 season in Jackson Hole

The power of beautiful diversity and passion in connecting our communities… Dancers’ Workshop presents the innovative, cultural stories of Ballet Hispánico with five days of inspiring dance experiences. Ballet Hispánico will begin their residency with dual immersion dance outreach and demonstration for students at Munger Elementary School and Jackson Hole Middle School. They will also hold evening classes at Dancers’ Workshop.

Then, on February 1 and 2, Jackson Hole can look forward to two nights of elevated, energetic, thought-provoking dance performances as Ballet Hispánico offers four pieces exploring the cultural stories of the Latine/x/Hispanic communities. After the performance on Friday evening, all are welcome to join in on a fun salsa dance celebration with Ballet Hispánico.

Accolades for Ballet Hispánico pour in from across the country, with The Washington Post declaring Ballet Hispánico “a cutting-edge crowd pleaser,” and the Chicago Sun Times remarking “everything about Ballet Hispánico is smashingly theatrical – from the stunning individuality and flamboyant, expressive style of its dancers, to its use of sets, lighting, costumes and sound.”

Through its exemplary artistry, distinguished training program, and deep-rooted community engagement, Ballet Hispánico champions and amplifies Latinx voices in the field. For over fifty years Ballet Hispánico has provided a place of honor for the omitted, overlooked, and othered. As it looks to the future, Ballet Hispánico is pushing the culture forward on issues of dance and Hispanic creative expression.

“Ballet Hispánico opens a cultural door, creating an atmosphere of connection and community that unites us through artistry,” says Babs Case, Artistic Director of Dancers’ Workshop. “We are absolutely honored to have this remarkable dance company visit Jackson Hole with their open spirits and fiery creativity.”

Established in 1972, Dancers’ Workshop enriches lives by providing excellence and diversity in movement experiences through education, performance, and outreach for students and audiences of all ages. Based in Jackson Hole, this nonprofit organization offers 50 dance classes each week via The School at Dancers’ Workshop for young dancers ages 18 months to 18 years. Dancers’ Workshop is also proud to present the Junior Repertory Company and Contemporary Dance Wyoming, as well as host exceptional dance companies from around the globe.
