BODYVOX presents Serious Cupcakes

A dazzling recipe of athleticism, humor and a love of theater are the ingredients that make up Serious Cupcakes, the latest live production from BODYVOX, Portland’s world-renowned artistic performance company. A crowd favorite from last year’s season, Serious Cupcakes is back and will feature a superb collection of new works from new and newly-inspired choreographers.

“Serious Cupcakes is a production that will invite seven choreographers to create brand new premieres on our company,” said Jamey Hampton, Co-Artistic Director of BODYVOX. “It is an offering of individual delicacies, giving a platform to choreographers who don’t keep their own companies. The variety of artistic vision in this delectable amuse bouche is going to be sweet and tantalizing!”

Running two consecutive weekends, January 26 – 28 and February 2 – 4, 2023 at the BODYVOX Dance Center, Serious Cupcakes will feature choreography by Bo Brinton, Bobby Fouther, Jenelle Gaerlan, Theresa Hanson, Darvejon Jones, Andrea Parson, and Laure Redmond. 

Led by Emmy Award-winning choreographers Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland, BODYVOX is known for its visual virtuosity, distinctive wit and unique ability to combine dance, theater and film into breathtaking productions rich in imagery, athleticism and humor.
