CNADM Scholarships Honor Barbara Swanson

The Chicago National Association of Dance Masters (CNADM) is pleased to announce that the annual Scholarship Program is being designated the Barbara Swanson Workshop Scholarship Program to honor the memory of long-time member Barbara Swanson, MDE.

Each year, CNADM awards 30-40 scholarships annually to attend CNADM workshops that cover registration fees that total over $10,000.

This year, the scholarship program is being named for member Barbara Swanson, who died in January. The family of Barbara Swanson is underwriting the costs of the entire scholarship program for the next three years in Barbara’s memory.

Barbara loved CNADM and its mission to provide quality continuing dance education. A frequent CNADM workshop attendee, Barbara joined the association in 1976 and earned her Master Dance Educator certification in 1983. She served the membership by holding a position on the Board of Directors for over a decade in the 1980s-’90s, including holding the offices of Principal and Secretary.

At the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, they believe every student of their valued members deserves the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and into a world-class, nationwide community of peers and faculty.

CNADM is pleased to offer 25 scholarships from the Barbara Swanson Scholarship Program to attend CNADM Training School, Student Sessions, National Ballet Forum, Dance & More, and Convention.

2022 Workshop Scholarship Application is available now to CNADM members and their students. The application submission deadline is April 15th. Recipients will be notified by May 1st.

Founded in 1912, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters is an internationally recognized association with members throughout the U.S. and Canada, and is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and skills of those who have chosen dance and dance education as a profession. CNADM provides a member certification program to ensure that the highest standards are met and maintained by dance educators.
