The Entertainment and Performing Arts Industry Conference (EPIC) is a global, 24-hour, online event for everyone working in, aspiring to work in, or wishing to explore the arts and entertainment sector. Misty Copeland made history as the first African American Female Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre. She takes a break from her rigorous schedule for an exclusive interview for EPIC.

Isaac Hernández is principal dancer with the English National Ballet. Born in Mexico, Isaac has appeared throughout the world and received numerous awards. Isaac discusses the passion and rigor that has fueled him, as well as the challenges and perspectives he has as an icon and new father.

International renowned choreographer, Sergio Trujillo sits down with former Executive Editor at Playbill, Ruthie Fierberg to dig into his approach and process in: The Language of Choreography: Communicating Culture and Story Through Movement. Trujillo is the first ever Latinx winner of the Tony Award for Best Choreography for his work on Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations.

Giuliano Peparini, was principal dancer of the Ballet National de Marseille at 24 years old. He has become a popular director and choreographer of ballet, circus, film, and television around the world. At EPIC, Giuliano will share the lessons learned from his international and varied career.

Liam Steel is a multiple award-winning choreographer and director from the UK, who is currently represented on Broadway with his choreography on Company. At EPIC, he joins other directors from the US and Canada to discuss diversity in their profession and the actions they can and are taking to make their productions more diverse.

The session, Dance Outlier: Keeping Dance Forms from the Street Alive and Authentic brings together three choreographer/dancers from three different continents to share their challenges and success in bringing cultural dance forms into performance.

Every performer has to navigate the casting process. In the panel, Demystifying Casting, five prominent casting professionals from Broadway, Circus, Cabaret, West End and Regional Theatre discuss and demystify the current realities and challenges of casting and its influence on levels of excellence, diversity, and the discovery and recommendation of extraordinary talent.
