New England Ballet Theatre Presents, Connecticut Made: A Collection of New Ballets

New England Ballet Theatre (NEBT) presents Connecticut Made: A Collection of New Ballets on Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Ailey® Citigroup Theater at 405 West 55th Street New York, NY 10019.

This is the second year that NEBT is performing in New York City. The show consists of three feature-length original works. Chicago-based choreographer Stephen Blood created the contemporary ballet Along the Shoreline for NEBT in January 2024. Its use of props, motifs, and spatial manipulation showcases the dancers’ athleticism. This ballet also features new costumes created by Taylored Dancewear.

NEBT Executive and Artistic Director Rachael Gnatowski also choreographed two new works for this show: Dans Le Noir and Silver Girl. Costume Manager Fiona Connolly created black romantic tutus with velvet detailing for Dans Le Noir, and Taylored Dancerwear created dresses for Silver Girl. Dans Le Noir is more classical in movement vocabulary and Silver Girl is a jazz-infused pointe piece that uses exaggerated facials and movements to tell a simple narrative.

Executive and Artistic Director Rachael Gnatowski says, “This performance showcases the company’s artistic range in order to show the New York audience who we are as a young, up-and-coming company. We are thrilled to make this trip an annual part of our programming.”
