Renown Prima Ballerinas and Exquisite Repertoire will Delight Audiences During Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida’s 25th Anniversary Ballet Gala

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will be closing its 25th Anniversary Celebration Season with a spectacular gala. Artistic Director Maestro Vladimir Issaev is excited to announce the presentation of both new and historic works with international guest artists that will join the professional dancers of the company for this magnificent closing Spring Ballet Gala on Sunday, April 23 at 5:00 PM at the Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale.

This celebratory gala’s program includes a diverse and exciting repertoire. The company will premiere Vicente Nebrada’s Doble Corchea, or Double Clef, with music by Benjamin Britten. This ballet is under the license of the Nebrada Foundation. Arts Ballet dancers will perform some of Issaev’s iconic pieces such as Taiko Mix, with music by Masuritza and Stravinsky’s Firebird adagio.

The program will also include internationally-acclaimed dancers joining the celebration, such as American Ballet Theatre’s Principal Dancer, Skylar Brandt, performing Le Corsaire Pas de Deux as a Guest Artist along fellow ABT dancer Jonathan Klein for such grand celebration. The company will also perform Le Jardin Animé from Le Corsaire.

Another highlight of the evening will be the participation of Janis Liu, former principal dancer with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida and now Artistic Director of the Grand Ballet of Hong Kong, who will be performing Issaev’s Le Papillon alongside Saaya Okada and Remina Tanaka.

To top it all off, Maestro Vladimir Issaev will be celebrating his 60th Artistic Anniversary as a member of the international dance community. To honor such a special double celebration Prima Ballerina of Miami and longtime pupil of Issaev, Ms. Mary Carmen Catoya will be back on stage interpreting Endless, a very demanding and profound piece by her ballet master inspired on the music of Mahler’s 5th Symphony Adagietto.

The performance will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 23 with the support of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, organization that manages the recently $30 million beautifully renovated The Parker. Formerly known as The Parker Playhouse. Honorees will include cultural leaders from both Miami Dade and Broward Counties.
