Quickstep for Kindness

Quickstep for Kindness ballroom dance competitionDid you know that despite the enormous popularity of ballroom dance in the US, that the best high school and collegiate teams in the country almost never have the opportunity to compete outside their region? The eagerly anticipated Quickstep for Kindness contest is now fully underway and submissions are being accepted from high school and collegiate dance teams who are eager to showcase how ballroom dance has a positive impact on their community.

Quickstep for Kindness
began this August 23rd and will culminate in March 2013 at the United States National Amateur Dancesport Championships at Brigham Young University (BYU). Besides being an opportunity to win a significant prize package for their high school or college team, the contest emphasizes turning a team’s passion for dance into something beneficial and inspiring for their local community.

Dore Designs has come together with Swarovski Elements, Brigham Young University (BYU) Ballroom Dance Program, Arthur Murray Dance Studios and DSI London to sponsor the Quickstep for Kindness video contest. Contestants will be judged on a 60 second or less influential video on how they are bringing about positive changes in their community with the use of their ballroom dancing talents. The grand prize for the contest includes a $10,000 travel sponsorship provided by Arthur Murray Dance Studios, fully paid entries to the US National Amateur Dancesport Championships in Provo, UT provided by the BYU Ballroom Dance Program, a $3000 additional travel fund provided by Swarovski and Dore Designs, Men’s costumes provided by DSI London and Women’s costuming provided by Dore Designs.
