Few spots remain for TDC’s summer intensive

The Dallas ConservatoryThe Dallas Conservatory’s International Summer Dance Intensive is a “galaxy of dance stars and star faculty” teaching students aged 10-26 in small classes. While TDC is still accepting DVDs and hosting private auditions (as public auditions have been completed), limited spots remain, with many weeks already sold out. Texas dancers interested in enjoying a “little bit of New York in Dallas” should apply as soon as possible!

The 2016 Faculty includes: Natalya Lushina Zeiger (Rock School, Bolshoi, YAGP); Desmond Richardson and Christina Johnson (Complexions Contemporary Ballet); Wes Chapman (former ABT Principal, YAGP); Scott Fowler (dozens of Broadway and TV shows); Misha Tchoupakov (YAGP Rehearsal Director, Bolshoi); Dusty Button (Boston Ballet Principal); American Ballet Theatre’s Sarah Lane and Gisele Bethea; Jeff Rogers (former Ballet West Principal, YAGP); Carlos Dos Santos (former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Complexions dancer); and Phil Orsano (Contemporary Fusion Instructor at Broadway Dance Center NYC.)

Six weeks of intensives are offered, starting June 6, June 13, June 20, August 1, August 8 and August 15. Two groups of students (intermediate and advanced) enjoy 5.5 hours of daily classes on a condensed schedule, with 5 hours of technique. Classes include a 2.25 hour ballet and pointe class, a 2.25 hour contemporary class, one hour of pas de deus/variations/contemporary choreography, and 30 minutes of enrichment in Pilates, Nutrition, Dance History and more. Each week concludes with a studio performance.
