BTP at Sea submissions close March 15
Broadway Theatre Project, one of the world’s leading musical theatre arts education programs for high school and college students, is typically offered over three weeks each summer. For 2015, BTP will be hosted by Norwegian Cruise Line at their state-of-the-art training facility in Tampa Bay, Florida.
BTP will be accepting submissions from students age 16 and older who desire intensive training for a career in the performing arts. Only 80 applicants will be selected for this premier experience, presented July 9-August 1.
While in residence at Norwegian Creative Studios, students will train rigorously in the three disciplines of musical theatre with a faculty of the most accomplished artists in the performing arts world.
During Week Three, apprentices will take to the sea for a one-week Caribbean cruise aboard Norwegian’s newest ship, Norwegian Getaway, where they will continue to sharpen their craft and perform in their 800 seat, state-of-the-art theatre.
Some of BTP’s past legendary teachers have included: Tommy Tune, Joel Grey, Bebe Neuwirth, Marilu Henner, Patti Lupone, Gwen Verdon, Phylicia Rashad, John Kander, Vanessa Williams, Gregory Hines, Ben Vereen, Jimmy Naughton, Treat Williams, Jeff Calhoun, Stanley Donen, Gene Saks, David Loud, Frank Wildhorn, Mark Holliman, Greg Kotis, Dudley Moore, Paige Davis, Donna McKechnie, Christopher d’Amboise, David Loud, Jay Binder, Jed Bernstein and Ann Reinking, one of the program’s founders and its original artistic director.
