Inaugural VIBE Summer Dance Workshop

VIBEThe inaugural VIBE Summer Dance Workshop, kicking off in Atlanta this June, will provide concentrated studies in contemporary dance, jazz, hip-hop and placement technique. Taught by current industry professionals, the workshop is open to intermediate and advanced dancers ages 14 and up.

Taking place at Emory University’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, the workshop will have jazz led by Joshua Blake Carter, hip-hop led by Julia Friedman, contemporary led by Rachel Erin Truitt, and placement and technique led by Susan Eldridge.

In its inaugural year, VIBE Dance Workshop is co-directed by Tara Shepard Myers and Emily Yewell Volin. Myers and Yewell-Volin noticed an Atlanta-area need for concentrated contemporary, jazz and hip-hop dance study taught alongside top-quality technique and placement classes. Hence, with their combined professional backgrounds, the pair decided to launch an intensive study that would train students in current dance trends while honing the versatility and marketability of every registrant.

This summer VIBE Dance Workshop will launch and in the process, aims to train, connect and inspire. “Jump in the current, live in the now, catch the VIBE,” exclaims VIBE’s press release.
